K. Slater, M.D.

 

Kenneth Slater, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Slater is graduate of Columbia University and the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami. He did a Psychiatric Residency at McMaster University School of Medicine afterwhich he moved to New England. Shortly after arriving in Massachusetts he was appointed Clinical Director of the Danvers State Hospital, the largest Psychiatric Hospital in Massachusetts. He has practiced Psychiatry for over a quarter of a century and has devoted his practice to developing the most compassionate and successful methods of helping alcohol and opiate users retain ownership of their lives. He has served as the Chief of the Chemical Dependency Unit at the Hampstead Hospital and Medical Director of Seminole Point Hospital, a Substance Abuse Treatment Hospital. In 1997 he left and established HarmonyFirst the first ambulatory alcohol and drug treatment program in New England. Dr. Slater is SAMHSA certified in the use of Suboxone/Subutex as well as being a CIGNA preferred provider.

Scott Connors, RN., Director of Clinical Services
Mr. Connors has been with HarmonyFirst since its inception, and brings his close to three decades of experience in the fields of Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse to bear on the services provided by HarmonyFirst. Mr. Connors and Dr. Slater form the treatment team, which provides 365 days/year crisis and detoxification services to our patients.

B. E. Richardson, M.D.Brenda E. Richardson, MD, President
Dr. Richardson, M.D., a Canadian, graduated from the University of Guelph, studied at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education before entering the McMaster School of Medicine where she received her M.D. She then went on to Harvard University where she earned a Masters in Science in Public Health. As well as being one of the founders of HarmonyFirst LLC she is also a past President of the Massachusetts Peer Review Organization (MassPRO) a Federally supported institution that works to improve medical care and quality. She has served as chief of her hospital's Quality Assurance Program and has also served as Chief of Staff and President of her local Medical Society and is a current Board Member of the Massachusets Medical Society. Because of her work in the field of medical quality she was elected to the Board of the PROMutual Group, one of the nation's premier malpractice carriers. In addition to ensuring that the highest standards of medical care are maintained she also monitors trends and developments in Substance Abuse and Health Policy in order to assure that the company maintains its leadership position as a provider of Substance Abuse Treatment.
